Like simple things like an oil change, fixing a flat, rotating the tires, removing the dash or door panels, etc...

I like to try and turn all the simple stuff into a NASCAR Pit Stop race and see how quickly Im able to do it. laugh.gif

Anyone else do it or am I just nuts2.gif

I timed myself recently to see how long I could take doing something. I had about 5 beers and 2 glasses of water, and I REALLY had to piss, and I had been holding it for a LOONG time. I was disappointed that I couldn't hit the 1 minute mark; I only made it to 48 seconds.

I can change the oil in a Crown Vic or Ford Taurus in under 3 minutes with a lift and a bulk oil pump.

in terms of my car, no because i like to check several things even during a oil change.

during a oil change I will let the oil drain as much as 2 hours while i am rotating tires, checking torque specs after i rotate tires on the lug nuts, clean my CAI, cleaning the engine bay, etc.

I've had a simple oil change last as much as 4 hour but when i was done the entire car was cleaned, washed and waxed, lol.

now at work that is a different thing I was recently put in charge of refiguring hours on certain jobs. there were several welders (including me) that were complaining that 4 or 5 of our main money maker jobs were not given enough time on them. a majority of these they only needed 4 hours more to complete the task.

supervisors would come by, check our time slips, and wonder why it was taking longer than normal. they hafve found out on two differnt jobs that i have looked into that the employees were right all along, imagine that.
