If only there was a solution to the solution as easy as finding more oil off our shores or inventing ways to make solidified shale usable.
I guess we'll all just have to go out and buy electric cars at dealer premiums (plus state an local taxes) next time. But think of how much we can brag to our neighbors about how much better we are since our carbon footprint is lower after buying an electric SUV (with gasoline "backup" engine) that gets an EPA estimated 457,000 miles to the gallon (0.26 mpg on gas). I mean, we can just be rude dicks to them with all of the moral justification and cut off anyone in traffic we see as unfit. I mean after all, we drive electric cars now.

Fact, but you're still only accounting for the demand side. The supply issues still need to be worked out, if both aren't in harmony it's not going to work sadly. And then we let the government touch it So all in all, its always going to be screwed. Time to give Brazil a few more billion, because that really worked in our favor.
