price of a whopper in 1992? ~$1.29 is what im finding although i bet it was cheaper in 1988

Regular Whopper is $3.49, a double is $4.39. Gas was .87 in Vegas Later than '92. I moved here in '92 and the price was that low for a while. I didn't break $1.00 until the late 90's.

 

YES, they have. In 1997-98, I very frequently took advantage of the 99 cent Whopper for lunch. It was located near work, and I just started college. Paid $3 for my lunch every day for 2 Whoppers and a drink. I also filled up gas at a Raceway near the same work place for 95 cents per gallon. It is now $3.49 for the sandwich, and $3.35 for gas here.

So at this point in time, the sandwich has gone up MORE.





You can blame the sandwich increase on the minimum wage hikes for the people who make them.

 

That was a short term promotion. In fact, that was one of the promotions franchise owner's sued over because they lost money on every Whopper sold. McD's still does 2 for $2 Big Macs every now and then... but that doesn't mean that's the "price".

 

Who gives a sh*t, 99 cents or $1.29? It's still close enough to make a legitimate comparison to argue against your belief that the oil companies, Burger King, and dairy farmers are brainwashing us. Tons of products have gone up 300% since the mid-late 90's.



How about internet service, from $15/mo. to $60? Package of hotdogs from $0.50 to $1.50.

Your "facts" are incorrect. Even the energy industry agrees that the cost of energy has outpaced inflation. This is one of the reasons food and energy aren't included in the inflation numbers.
