No, that does NOT make sense. The Beta engine torque curve is at 120 Ft. Lbls above 2500 rpm, and stays between 120 and 130 all the way to 5252 when HP takes over for torque.
Anything above 2500 MAKES NO DIFFERENCE in torque output. (it does but we are talking about under 10). 2500 works JUST FINE.
Check out the dyno for any beta engine. 2500 is the same as 4000 for torque. The problem is that if you lauch at 4000, you lost 1500 RPM of acceleration room before the next shift.
