Ok well im back up an running for the most part. Started at 3 friday afternoon getting the tranny cleaned and oil seals installed so I could slap her on the block (struggles) and finished up at 4 in the morning and drove her home. The full size radiator from a 1.6 auto accent didnt fit so the lil one went back in. The a/c compressor leaks at the seem where the 2 halves come together, it failed the leak test on a 30 minute vaccum I set up on my a/c machine. I decided to inject the gas anyways hoping it was a small leak but it wasnt. After dumping in 1lbs 5oz the machine stopped and I could hear it leaking, located the leak then recovered what was till in the system, lost 9 oz in the process. So the engine runs strong and sounds good, just gotta get some a/c then detail the crap outa my car.

yo in regards to the grinding second gear. my cousin noticed that i had a battery cable running underneath one of the shifter weights (don't know what it's called, the round things by the tranny that shifter cables hook up to) anyways, the casing of the cable was all worn out from the shift mechanism rubbing against it. I moved it to a new location and hardly have any more grind. i think what grinds now is due to all the previous damage.

I know exactly what part your talking about and I believe you are referring to the wire that runs to the starter, mine is clear. The bushing on my shift cable still needs replaced so no real update on that.

yeah exactly, some guys at the shop had zip tied mine to a nearby cable but i noticed that it was not far enough out of the way so i moved it closer in towards the engine and tranny, i think it clears now.

I grabbed a used block from a 2005 elantra and slapped my good cylinder head onto the block
