Yamaneko's Elantra LOST POWER with the new muffler. So the put the stock one back on. Alpine is going to alter a few more things???? then try it again. They said they really want 50 HP (Yamaneko does too!).

I believe it is a 1.6L, but also...they way they figure displacement in rotary/wankle engines is rather screwy.
Lastly...twin turbo a tibby and 255 should be NO PROBLEM! Developing and tuning the twin turbo would be the problem.

Just wanna post my 3 cents; but the 3rd gen rx7 is a 1.3L rotary, but most rx7 enthusiasts opt for the single turbo upgrade...Like a greddy t88 kit. Going to a single turbo setup has a little more spool time for the turbo; but you get massive boost when it hits.
since we are on the topic, and i feel like showing off some of my ignorance, what exactly is a "rotary" engine. cause a 1.3L just seems extremly small. and i was just kinda wanting to know y they went with the set up they did for the rx-7???

Well, I don't know all that much about the Wankel rotary engine in the RX7..theory behind it. Here's some links to help you picture the engine. The piston is triangular shaped and it doesn't require any intake or exhaust valves as your standard cylinder engine.

the rotary engine has by far the best power curve in any engine known to man, because the engine rotates instead of pushes up with more than one piston, the rpms can build faster.
The rotary engine is also very light
all rotary engines are 2 rotor designs.
each rotor displaces 654cc so that adds up 2 1.3L hence the displacement, it is hard to determine the exact displacemnet of a rotary that is why they were not allowed to compete @ lemans after 1992
the 1993+ Mazda rx-7 is one of the greatest sports cars ever produced, it has a perfect 50/50 weight ratio, and only weighs 2700 pounds, yet its 255hp can propel it to 60mph in 4.9 seconds stock, and it completes teh 1/4 in sub 14 second runs, it also can pull very high numbers on the skidpad stock, the r1 which had stiffer suspension could pull about .9g it was named motor trend COY in 1993
Most people who want to keep their rotary streetable do not go for a single turbo setup as it requires the engine to be ported which makes the throttle very touchy and teh idle kind of wierd, the engine also suffers from apex seal failure when there is detonation, a blown apex seal will require a total rebuild or a new engine any ?'s about it please feel free to ask

Viper...there are also single rotor and there are triple rotor engines. But if you are talking USA Rx7's...then yes. All were dual rotor.
