Default Alpine Forced Induction in progress.

On Friday morning, Yamaneko and I dropped off our respective cars into the hands of Alpine Developments.

Yamaneko will have the SuperCharger installed in his Elantra. They hope to have it completed by Tuesday 07/03/2001.

I will have the Turbocharger with intercooler installed in my Tiburon. They hope to have the turbo/intercooler installed by Thursday 07/05/2001.

When the details start to emerge, I will post them up here, or in seperate threads in the engine forum.

Kick ass man! Where are they located at? I know when I talked to them they were based out of South Africa I think. The guy said that they were getting ready to set up in cali, and possibly in Florida (I'm not sure...I can't remember)... So I guess that they have setups in the US now huh? Once again...congrats!

They are based in South Africa, they came to the USA to do the installs and test their setups with the USA spec Cars/ECU's.

They will have a distributor in California somewhere.

RavDav was to have the turbo installed, but his car was in an accident in transport to California for the install.

I was able to have the extra $$$ available for the turbo, and Yamaneko was able to have the extra $$$ available for the supercharger.

Question Random:
Can you ask Alpine if they would consider coming to Canada for an install?
And also are they going to have a distributor here? If you can't find out, don't worry cause am going to e-mail them also about it. I just thought it might be faster if you ask.

It is possible to to a twin turbo on a 4 cylinder. ROOM is the problem we have in our engine compartments.

A sequential twin turbo would be the best option. A small turbo for quick spool up, then a larger turbo for Insane boost.

It is possible, but I seriously doubt #1 you could afford it, #2, that apline would be willing to fly back to the USA to do the work. (they are based out of South Africa, and are only here in the USA to test their systems with the North American Spec engines)

The system currently costs $1900 for the Turbo and $1300 for the supercharger plus shipping. However that price is going to go up as soon as their USA distribtor gets started, so order soon.

BTW... The supercharger's first Dyno run Gained 45 HP and 55 Torque. They then installed a new muffler becuase the stock Elantra Muffler was too restrictive.

They hope to do another run later today after the new muffler and minor tuning and are expecting 50 Hp.

They have no figures yet for my Turbo, because they are just doing the exhaust work now. They hope to have a preliminary Dyno done by Friday Morning, and hope to have my car done by Friday afteroon. More updates will come when we have more information.
