I don't believe that the Shiftronic alone is going to give you performance gains in and of itself. It allows you to perform better AS A DRIVER by giving you say in when the shifts happen. You won't get a boost in horsepower, but you'll have a better means of controlling the transfer of the horsepower you currently have to the pavement.

Ding ding ding...we have a winner... wink.gif

I did an auto to manual conversion, my manual tranny busted ( don't ask how )

That is my biggest argument for having a auto shiftronic over a manual...I know I would be replacing clutches left and right because of the way I drive... Plus it would eliminate a lot of driver errors on the track...and the fact that I am extremely lazy might play a part in my decisions...hehehe

About 5 C bills? Wow that is very good priced! What was the quote on the vavle bodies and torque converter?
Not much difference on the shiftronic? They must have noticed they can manually shift the auto, right? LOL performance is in holding it to the peak HP to RPM (shift light maybe).

The torque converter was a little under 500, and the perfomance tranny kit was also a little under 500. The kicker is that you still have to factor in labor...which unless you do it yourself - will be quite high...

Speedblind!!
How the hell did you bust your tranny?
How long has it been since you did the conversion?Do you still have warranty?
Also why dont you just purchase another 5 speed tranny from the scrap yard, instead of putting the auto tanny back in.

His clutch died, and shattered. It sent pieces into the tranny belhousing and cracked it, then all of his gear oil spilled like blood onto the ground (rather graphic tonight, arent I?)

he didn't have the $$$fundage$$$ to shell out for a new manual tranny, and he had the old autotragic tranny sitting around...so he went with what was available!
