It hurt his performance because (correct me if I'm wrong), he took out the resonators as well as the plastic feed that directs air from under the front of the hood into the filter box. With this part of the setup removed, he was sucking in hot air that was being blown into his filter box by the radiator fan.

Fast.Shark - CPS -> Crank Pan Shatter. It's a bad condition where engines that rely on the intake resonators to act as vibration dampeners for the underside of the engine...oil pan, etc... With those resonators gone, those parts are allowed to vibrate freely, and if you hit just the right resonance...well, you've seen what a good soprano can do to a wine glass...

I'm just screwing with you...CPS is Canadian Prarie Shark.

i had a problem with my tranny. the stock time for an accent is like 18. something. i ran a 15.9 before nitrous. i took it to jays shop and he messed around with the engine for a hour or so. i went up against his CRX and ran a 15.5 i thought it was pretty good for me, thats with no nitrous we are in the process of installing it. just havent had much time to get it in the shop. he killed me though he was in the low 12s. im actually pretty happy with my times. i dont really buy your 15.7 with hardly any work though on an accent anyways
