K I just got off the phone with VDI. They were originally, going to send out new kits for everyone. Then Louis kinda decided to cut a corner, and just mod the kits you guys sent in. Well, since they all require a bunch of time to mod, NOW they want to give brand new kits. The kits are being assembled right now, as I type this. They were working on them when I called actually, as I'm able to talk with the main guy in charge of assembling and shipping out there, who is a friend of mine. He said, they'd just send new ones now, but either way I'm still waiting on them to ship out the new stuff guys. I'm sorry if this put any extra strain on you guys who have scheduled bodywork, and I hope to have them all out as soon as VDI calls me to pick em up. Thanks guys.

Thanks for the update.
What type of shipping will they use, or do you know? I have someone coming down from NY on the 9th and I was hoping to have them on by then.
But I guess a new kit is better than a modded one.

wow, bad news for you guys. I now have 4 kits sitting here, all of which are being replaced with brand new kits. Now I'm really happy I didn't send one out to Peter. Turns out they still have a big problem at VDI. Apparently, the changes that needed to be done to the kits, were somehow misplaced? I was under the impression (cause I believe I was TOLD this), that the kit on my white RD2 was the first of the new production run of kits. It fits and acts perfect, so I assumed all was well. So now after two or three weeks of these "send back" kits being here, I was getting worried about whats up down at VDI.

I'm sorry to say, but I had to get ahold of the owner, and find out what the hell happened, and all in all to make a long story short, they need my car back. So I arranged for the RD2 to be dropped off on the 14th of this month, which is ok for me since I'll be in Canada from the 15th to the 21st. They'll do what they gotta do, and send out brand spankin new kits out. But meanwhile, I dont know if you've noticed, I haven't posted a VDI sale in forever, as I'm trying to keep all this crap isolated between the 5 or 6 of us.

So put those body shop projects on hold gentlemen, I dont think anyones going to be molding any parts until they have their hinges back on. I think its kinda wack, cause they said they just needed to grind out the hold holes, and swap one bracket and one bolt from each hinge. That IS all the need to do, but now waiting on the new kits is taking forever. AND they still dont have the years right for these cars, lol. Look at their new site, it shows my black car for 96-98, and my white RD2 for 99-01 LOL. I dont know how thats so hard to understand, but whatever, its not hugely important, its the same damn part number. But I guess whatever happened with the RD2 was more or less my fault, as I saw them lagging on getting the car back to me, and I rushed them till I had it back.

Sorry gents. I'll update soon.

I'll clear up the confusion. I have your kit (Long) and three others. They are all being replaced with the new kits, but only after VDI uses my car for specs again. Sorry about the wait, I'd expect them to be done when I pick up the car on the 22nd.
