I think I'm supposed to be on there.
If not, I paid for the airram strut bars then. You can just swap the money over to this project as I'm getting my bar from Viper966.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DrivingTibNaked @ Sep 24 2006, 10:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>are these going to be just a stock replacement, or are they actually going to be stylish? I saw an eclipse with a wiper cowling that formed right to the wipers and extended up somewhat. it was just enough to be noticable and it looked as though it may increase the aerodynamics of the car. I'd be down for it if it is something like that.
But as far as stock replacements? 1. Its too light to start with to change to carbon fiber. 2.If i don't like the color i could paint it. 3.It's not very noticable. 4.you can remove the oxidized (faded) layer from the top using silicone lube.
Where are they going to mount, hood or stock cowl grill? I'd be down for style. If we're just doing a stock replacement, that's pretty bunk. If we're going to go, go big!!! This could be "the coolest part ever". But as it is now, it won't even be seen by the average person looking at the car.</div>
Read the thread man. They will fit OEM, mount OEM, look mostly OEM. Exceptions being what Chris just said, it'll have one long vent per piece and a mesh put in place.
Chris, I think that sounds FANTASTIC.
Is that mesh going to be included?

do we have a rough draft of what they're supposed to look like?
I'd be down, but it's just a change in material, if it's not a change in style, aerodynamics, or function. What's the point in a $100 1-for-1 exchange when i can't even sell the old part?
Can we at least seal off the hood so it cannot in any way draw hot air from the engine, or be flush with the hood and direct air over the wipers to the windshield? Maybe even a gental swoop to the vent and then back up to the wipers. or a straight drop from the hood to the angled foreward vent, wraping the windshield wipers?
I'm all for new parts, but it would be like a CF rear view mirror. or CF seat belt clips.... It's not noticable, it's not more functional and it costs alot.

The point is the stock ones get discolored, and if we can add something different, we want to.
CF is a big deal for plenty of folks, I like the bit of CF touches myself, small stuff like these.
That's the deal.
CF.
These won't be identical to the OEM ones, that's been said about 3 dozen times.

I believe in you chris. please stay on top of this. remember you have not yet made a standard price. some still owe you money and others are overpaying. you won't be able to make a final price until you have the final cowling. if i'm overpaying, i don't care i want this to be made asap!
the people who won't notice it will be the people who don't know what CF is. people who don't know what CF is wouldn't be looking at your car to begin with wink1.gif
thank you for the update, pleeeease do this. it will be the bestest thing since the angel eyes once in production. hotcakes man. they will make a beautiful sleeper effect!!
at least your update brought my excitement back up...

Well, since I dont have the Tibby anymore... I hate to ask for my money back... so does anyone want to pay me for the one that I bought? Then Blacktibs can just ship it strait to you when these get finished. 02.gif
Hopefully someone will want mine, if not, can I get my money back Chris?

sounds good... Like i said, I may. I still have yet to see what these look like and if i'd be interested. Do we have draft plans done? I'd like to see a rough outline of the design.
