Which Flyryde Product Are You Waiting For?
OK I just received an email from Rick. I really think that Chris and Rick need to work this out cause its a little confusing to me but here is what he said.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I had difficulty getting those fenders I paid from other manufacturer, but
they finally decide to meet up with me this Thursday to return my fenders.
However, this fenders may send to other manufacturer to produce them.
Chris asked start up money for production at his place, but I paid this
fenders and vent fenders already + start up cash of $500 + additional
fenders I need to pay doesn't make any sense.
There were only couple full payment and couple partial payment, so I
thought giving fenders (OEM) and aftermarket vent fender to Chris will
take care members who paid me in return. If I need to give everything and
on top of the money to start up, I prefer to go other way where I don't
need to pay any start up for production.</div>
From my impression Chris (blacktibs) you were needed not only the fenders but some of the start up that we paid Rick correct. I asked Rick to get in contact with you(Chris) to sort out the whole thing. Hope this gets things going.

Man, now I'm confused more than ever. I'm just trying to piece this together so it makes sense at all. Either way, I want everyone to know, that they'll be fine with their money, and I'll take care of them from this point on one way or another, you'll get my widebody fenders, gilled, or non gilled just as I've promised you. Period.
Ok, so I'll give this a shot...
I get fenders from Rick, sounds like an OEM set and then the widebody flares to be molded? I think thats right, anyone think something else??? This I think is very generous of rick to give me the fenders and flares.
Now what I'm confused on, is how much money is involved here. If I get the fenders and flares, then that means only one thing. I will take those to my manufacturer pay money to have them molded on, ONLY if the fenders fit perfectly. One catch though, I have just payed out many hundreds of dollars TWICE for perfect fitting OEM fenders, so I have them in fiberglass already, so I dont know that I'd need the OEMs from rick.
Once the fenders were molded perfectly as we'd want them for production, I'd pay for the mold to be made, and then I'd have to pay for each fender we had them make. So I'm figuring this to cost me at least about 10 customers to break even. Which I'm willing to do.
I dont want Rick to think he has to
1. Pay for my start up costs. That'd be dumb to pay money for MY business with HIS money.
2. Give me a part ready to put into production. The fact he'd GIVE me anything to start this is enough for me to be happy. Ricks always done really nice things for me, so this is no different in my book.
3. Deal with anybody upset about these fenders, as I WILL TAKE CARE OF THIS its not a matter of screaming or swinging at anybody, its simply being clear on the facts, and carefully deciding what path will be the wisest to take, to benefit EVERYBODY as equally as possible. Simple as that.
All I do want of Rick is to speak with me, as I have lots of hope for his products to sell well through FlyRyde. Especially to non active forum posters that I meet in my travels, that go to FlyRyde for parts. I think Real is a cool company to work with since I love these stupid Hyundais so much. I love Imports in general, but with Hyundai products, its right in my ball park, so I'm always down to work with other companies like this. So nobody needs to be upset, as long as we all come to terms with exactly how this is going down.
Then people get fenders, and in the long run, FlyRyde makes some profit, woohoo!

Not that I'm considering getting the wide fenders but wouldn't it be easier for you (Chris) to just take a mold from your own fenders? That way you don't have to worry about waiting to receive stuff from Rick. I would've thought that your carbon OEM fenders could act as a decent substitute your own fenders, at least temporarily.
I've been thinking about it, but damn, have you seen my fenders??? First off they fit like ass when I got em, and only fit after much mods, so who knows how they'd be if i copied em.
And second, they are cut and molded to the Wings West sideskirts up front, which are molded to the frame of the car. So those bad boys cant come off without cutting, which is ok, but I would never use them for molding since we'd have to chop the bottom off of one of my FG OEMs and mold them to the bottom of MY fenders now.
Would seem like a good fix, but nope 02.gif
