Wait till Chris will answer that, but i swear seeing somewhere (maybe in the next thread), that it's your choice. Carbon or fiber.

As far as i think, anyone planning on painting it still should use carbon...
Especially with that price!

Don't forget that importing F2 bumper on your own costs as much as 1500 after taxes!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (OdessitPashka @ May 27 2005, 05:47 AM)</div><div class='quotemain'>What will happen if a rock will hit the bumper?

Those CF stuff will have a clear coat on top just like the OEM paint right? Will the clear coat chip off if something hits it?

How easy is it to clean CF parts?

Answer those questions man.

And you did not get at me today like you promised....

I'm concerned about lexan though. Winters in MD get rough with lots of snow and having rear window defroster I have to say is a must. With lexan I will not have it, is that so???

How much for the door covers?

Chris please get back at me asap!!!
Tibbiete.... did you look at flyride forum??? Please search before asking questions....

I suck man, sorry about that no answer IM thing. In my experience with my cf hood, it was simple to clean off water spots, dust, and bugs. Basically take the clear coat on your OEM paint, and multiply it by 10. Thats how much clear you have on these parts. So cleaning is just an issue of rubbing it down real well and polishing.

Rocks, if they hit your bumper, they shouldn't chip clear out at all, unless you hit a little ninja star shaped rock that plants itself into the bumper. Remember this stuff is stronger than steal and doesn't dent. It will scratch though, so watch out for that, you'll have to get it buffed out from time to time to keep that perfect gloss to it though.

OK, now again, like on my other thread. You dont want a CF hatch unless you drive a damn race car, really. It'll be noisy, it wont look like OEM glass. There wont be defrosters, wipers, or even a stock seal for that matter. If ONE tiny little thing is off on the hatch, your OEM glass wont seal up right, it could fall out I'm sure if something bumped you up super hard. Its just not a part you want to buy if you dont want to squeeze out every last drop of weight from the car. Its not a cf hood, where everyone wants it. Its a very special item, and anyone who buys one will have a kick ass product, but it comes with the territory that this is not for the amatures. Race or Show ONLY.

CF EVO hoods are 519 shipped in the 48 states.

Door skins will be somewhere around 200 I'm sure.

Thanks guys, but I think dedication sounds too noble, lets just call it my "infatuation". I just like cars thats all.

ALMOST ALL PRODUCTS FROM FLYRYDE DISTRIBUTION WILL COME IN BOTH CARBON FIBER, AND FIBERGLASS!

I just want people to weigh up the difference real quick. If you buy carbon fiber, it costs just a bit more, and you bolt it up, good to go. Fiberglass, comes with a tad cheaper price tag, but it needs prepping and paint and I'm sure you'll be charged for fitting it up as well, since you wont be doing it at the point that the body shop custom paints it for you and usually installs it too.

So weigh in the cost of paint with FG, versus the extra cost of carbon fiber which will be going up throughout the industry from now on, unless something happens to reverse the rising rates.

<div align='right'><{POST_SNAPBACK}></div></div>

I'm not sure man
I think these skirts are to straight
I mean, not following the lines of the tib
I'm not sure until they go in production
And make one with 1 vent on the side, don't put an extra thing in the middle wink1.gif
I know the turby's look like that, but I don't likey rolleyes.gif
The skirts in your first chop you've made look nicem, but again without the middle thingie

Don't listen to Domi!! lol

I love those skirts!!!

Chris, I'm happy to hear all the good things about CF smile.gif it's nice to have something that strong and good looking at the same time.

Ok, the hatch..... I'm doing it for the show and for the racing, but car will still be daily driven and I'm just not sure how I'm gonna come about show and stuff. Will it freeze onto the lexan like to freezes to the glass? How easy would it be to scratch the ice/snow off the lexan? Would I damage it easily? Is it as clear as glass? Can it be tinted?

PM me when you get a chance man. Or just let me know if you got the screen yet...

As far as i lnow, from my short experience with lexan, it can be covered professionaly with a top coat, making it scratch resistant, water will not accomudate on it ( don't need wiper), and you can clean it with regular spray or fast evaporating liquids.

That material is tight!!!

I'm also interested in knowing how bad are the issues of having it for everyday use...

Can't i fit the seals?

Prestone sells a defrost spray I don't know if it is lexan safe but you can get a 12x12 in. square at home depot for like 2 bucks and test it. It is a quick evaporating defrosting spray it's prolly like 5 a bottle. I also don't know how safe it is on paint or cf but since they sell it for use on your car it must be safe.

Will all the diff. cf pieces match? Like same cf pattern? Color?
