^^Ok, you're taking it wrong. We didn't say he doesn't know what he's doing. We just said that "he didn't even bother trying to build up the 5 speed". He doesn't know what he's never tried.

He told me that the newer trannies shift slower than the old ones. Which I already knew because I had an 01 Tib tran and now an 02 elantra. And I also confirmed it with Jaws021.
I asked him if he modified it, and nope, he didn't bother.
He never said that it BROKE, or that "it couldn't keep up". He simply said it shifted slower which he wasn't comfortable with. There are ways to fix that. He just didn't bother trying.
And the reason why we're getting all defensive about it is because you challenged our 5 speeds in your first post and thereafter. You make it seem like just because APE swapped to an auto, we should do the same because they're shitty. Sorry, but APE never proved that to us.

Ok guys, you got me. Its ok to be an ass every once in a while right? hehe. I see the value in your posts now, and dont get me wrong, I think its just great to have new innovative help to the community. I think more than anything, this should push me to get Tom working on my 5 speed tranny to see what crazy things he can come up with for that. I'm actually dropping off my black car there in the next hour.
But yeah, my bad, I didn't mean to jump on anyone. My whole thing was respect, but its not like anyone was talkin trash, more just making sure people didn't take this new info the wrong way and send a bunch of emails asking if they should swap to an auto, lol. You guys nipped it in the bud, which is good. So thanks fellas smile.gif
