whoa... wait a minute... SOCKS is supporting FlyRyde and urging people to buy!?!?!?

Chris... I know it puts you in a really tough spot, but I'd try to get the manufacturer to provide you with a Date of Availability and try your best to hold him to it. I know you hate giving people time frames, but make him give you one and stick to it. It sounds like you've finally started a good relationship with a company that won't screw you over, so I don't want you to jeopardize that, but send me a PM with a time that you think you might realistically be able to ship one to me. I'm included on that pre-buy for the HotShot headers, but I understand you may have other people to serve first.

Outstanding Questions:
1. diameter of pipe?
2. material used?
3. guage of steel?
4. verify that these DO bolt up to RD with NO modification?

I'm pretty sure he said in the other thread that you do have to modify your flex pipe to get it just a touch longer. These are a direct fit for the GK, which has a slightly longer flex pipe, everything else is a direct fit. I believe he even mentioned the possibility of making a flex pipe to go with it, but haven't heard anything since then.
And I think I have to get a set of these now...

Peter I want you to come up as often as you can to help test parts and get freebies, I owe you for over 2 years of patients, which I could never pay back in cash value. You'd be suprised how much I have in the works at this moment, and I'll need guys like you to be out there beatin up the products to get feedback on em! As far as Socks helping me on this, it was a shocker to me. I think ultimately it comes down to helping the community with this more than it helps me, so which ever it is, I'm thankfull.

I'll find out the exact material and guage. I know they're nice and heavy compared to the 4-1 Hotshot header I have.

Here are the specs as I know them to be right now. These bolt up perfectly to the head, and the bottom flange on the ones in the picture is a 2" diameter. The collector looks to be a full 2.5" I sent instructions to make the openning 2.25" at least, possibly 2.5" but I know that the OEM flange there is 2". If the manufacturer didn't already change this, it is something anyone can do later if they want to make it a perfect fit for their full 2.5" exhaust/cat. I know that these will only bolt directly up to a Beta II non CVVT. That covers the 01-03 XD Elantra, the 03-04 Tiburon, and possibly a few Kias like the Sentra (which has a Kia BetaII). I also know that if I make a flex pipe, I really would rather this header bolt on to the new 07 Tiburon, if it is different from the 05-06 F/L Tibs with CVVT. If the 07 is different, we'll have a flex pipe made for it from the same manufacturer. If the 07 is the same as the 05-06, then we'll kill 3 birds with one stone, not to mention the CVVT Elantras. Now, as far as bolt on for the 96-01 tibs, read below:

I have 10 sets of bent 2.5" Stainless that Hotshot told me I could pick up when they went out of business. I HAD 10 full sets of FlyRyde Catbacks already cut and mandrel bent when Hotshot closed, and sold off their stock to another company in downtown LA. I went down there, and looked through every bin of scrap metal and bent tubes, and all I could come up with one one basket full of bent tubes, which make up 1/3 of the Catback exhausts. So anyway, I've had them in storage, and I think each one of the 10 tubes can make up 2 flex pipe units for the RD tibs. I could make at least 20 flex pipes available and pay Tom from APE to flange em and have em ready to go. Then you guys could buy the headers as is, with the flex pipes, for say 50 bucks more, and have them ceramic coated or made however you want em. That'd at least make up some cash to get back from what I invested into the FlyRyde Catbacks (which by the way is the other current project this new manufacturer is making for me, hehe).

I'd love to get these with a 2.5" flex.

I'm excited for you bro... I really am.

It would be awesome if you could get the catbacks finished at the same time as the headers and sell them as a set (giving reduced shipping for customers and higher sales for you). Being able to ship an entire setup from the head to tip would be unbelievable... maybe a package deal of $650 shippied and a one-stop-shop for all tib owners. That's something to think about...

A lot of members (including myself) have a stock exhaust and want these headers and a catback.
