Well I picked up some fiberglass and carbon fiber along with some resin to get some body work repaired on my Accent. I hit a partial tire on the freeway last week that just killed my front Astrel bumper lip on the driver side and the top insert that goes on the bumper that I modified is showing its age with some cracking. so some carbon fiber to completely cover the bumper insert and fiberglass for the front lip. Didnt get much done with the front lip other then get it off the car and remove the old fiberglass from a previous repair job. I did get the top of bumper insert sanded down and semi wrapped in carbon fiber. Here are some pics of the damage and work.

Mmmmm! Carbon Fiber!!! More to do but its a nice start.

Crack at the bottom/center of the lip

As you can see Ive got some serious work to do. Thinking about wrapping the entire lip in carbon fiber then eventually the side skirts and rear lip.

i think a carbon fiber wrapped lip is magnificent. but i love that lip the way it is. it would be interesting to see how it would turn out. it would definitely make it sturdier.
i didn't know that was a lip!

wow, damn dude.. can't really tell due to the poor picture quality, but it looks like the carbon fiber looks awesome, can't wait to see it done and higher quality pictures.

Well I did get one coat of resin onto the top portion of my lil project tonight after work but... before I did I had to put it in place and snap some pics. As far as the lip goes I havnt really gotten to it yet. I did take some of the extra resin tonight and brushed it into the cracks on the inside of the lip. The outside portion of the lip is masked off with tape along all the cracks to hold it in place and to keep the resin from seeping through the cracks. After those two projects are complete then I need to finish my lower grill area were I cut out the crossbars. Look close in the pics and you will see the bondo. That is gunna get knocked out and im gunna have to learn how to plastic weld to take care of the holes. On a side note I did finish (after 2 years of slacking) FINNALY my GK Tib rear seat swap, that of course matches my front GK seats. Now when I say finished i mean that the seats are fully installed but I have some gaps to fill. I will explain more tomorrow and get a separate post with pics up for that. Also i know its been tried before but im thinking about a group buy for the astrel lip kit I have If I can find someone in the area willing to do it and for the right price. Now onto the pics

Thank you all for the props and I do have alot more ideas and things to come, it should be pleasing to the eye!
Turboron, carbon fiber wrapping is a fairly simple DIY, you should look into it.
