Finally got some good free time to get stuff done. The front lip is completely sanded down past all the paint both inside an out but is still in need of the wet sanding process. I got the second grill cut out and both grills sanded down to the plastic and ready for fiberglass. I only got the bottom base placed on one then washed my car an called it a day. Here are some pics of the work and also pics of what needs to be deleted on the top of the bumper for my piece to fit. Sorry some of the pics are crap.

First cut off this plastic tab

Both tabs cut off

Modified grill mounted to the bumper, just pretend the whole bumper is there!

We have a problem

And there it is, more cutting needed.

Cut just a tiny bit to close to the bolt hole but you get the idea

We have clearance

You will have to buy a screw with a smaller head to go into the shaved down spot

Or...

...make it smaller

Laying in the base layer to build upon

I brush the area were the glass is gunna lay down with resin then let it get tacky

Once its tacky I lay down the glass an it sticks almost like tape

After it dries I brush a very light coat on and let it get hard, now i have a base to build upon. I was hoping to have bases on both pieces but I just didnt get there. I blame the cold weather and drying times.

Update, got some time today and Floyd's grill is coming along. Hope to have the top complete by the end of the week and the bottom by the end of the weekend. After that it will be time to carbon fiber wrap it.

Lots of free time today so back at it I am. The top is nearly perfect, just a bit more tweeking for a flat surface. The bottom is ready to be sanded and flatened, real close to having it ready for the carbon fiber wrap.
