Windshield wiper alternative
ok i do not have windshield wipers because i dont like the way they look i like everything clean shaved appearance, so a clean windsielhd looks nice (;, problem is when it rains!! lol rainex works good but i have something in mind im working on, ok i have a small 1.5 gallon compressor, im painting it white to match my nos tank, mounthing it in the trunk, hooking up a solenoid so i can toggle air eith a switch, and im going to have little nozzles running through the cowel to shoot the air off the windshield, the nozzles will be hidden though, what do you guys think?
sounds pretty dumb to me.. lol..
taking your windshield wipers off cuz you like the look and replacing it with some janky air system.. dangerous..
i cant tell if you are actually serious...

Even if the air did work and I doubt it will, the amount of air you need to do it would be way more than that air compressor could provide. It would constantly be running to keep up with the demand for air. Which would constantly put a drain on your cars electrical system.
I have a 1 gallon compressor for small things in the workshop, if I hook up a air nozzle to it and pull the trigger it tank is empty in no time. With multiple nozzles its gonna go even faster. Almost all compressors run until a predetermined pressure then shut off, with the air turned on while you are driving even if it was for 10 min. It would never reach that pressure and would constantly run. This would create heat in the motor and possibly ruin the compressor as well.
It's definitely a unique idea but I seriously doubt it will work.

doesnt hurt until your on the highway and its pouring rain and the air compressor idea fails and you run into an 18 wheeler and perish.. but other than that, go for it!!!!

Aquapel. Beginning and end of story. I put it on and didn't have to use my wipers for about 3 months after applying it. As in the water simply slid right off my windshield if I was doing more than 40mph. Stuff's absolutely incredible. If you keep the stuff on and fresh, you'll have no need for wipers. Fine rain or mist is a little rough on it, but even with that it still does an incredible job.

In Texas, you'll need those wipers on when inspection time comes around. Also the power steering
Everyone is forgetting that your car has a built-in high volume air compressor giving air all the time . . . not that I would recommend putting the exhaust out from the cowl, but if you wanted to I guess you could. Just never ever roll down your windows.

"show" cars that have the wipers removed/deleted NEVER get driven in the rain. If your car is a DD, it's kinda silly to have the wipers removed. What happens if a truck drives by and splashes mud on the window? NO amount of air is going to get that off!

So what your saying is if you are cruising around in the city under 40 you'd be f*cked without your wipers
