Hi guys, I love your taste in modified tibs, therfor wanted your opinion:

I have a yellow tib. As of now, my dash is painted red, Thought it was cool way back, and the painter did a good job so I could pull it off.... Now I find it a bit ricey or whatever you call it...

I was thinking about repainting it to:
1. Mettalic black
2. Metalic Gunmetal (or really dark grey, like the color the TSX's have...)

Keep in mind that the car is yellow, now the rims are hypersilver, but I'm going to make them black or gunmetal, according to the dash color...
In the future I'm planning on Racing seats, bride GIAS or somthing similar, In black or gradation (grey tones,,,) with Kevlar (yellowish) backing.

So, let's hear your opinion!

heres my opinion.. do the top portion of the dash metallic black, and the bottom portion a textured charcoal.. it would look good, and give it a really unique look.. on my rd2, my top portion is the stock gunmetalish color, and the bottom is textured silver.

they have that same textured paint in like three colors. the textured charcoal look REALLLY good.

I think some wrinkle paint, or even some rhino liner would look good in the tib. I like the look of rhino liner. It looks tough. I'm going to start using some on certain things like the engine bay and where you put your hand on the A pillar to get out of the car. Just an out-of-the-box idea for you... Might look interesting and different, not to mention not too ricey on the dashboard.

I'm having the similar problem deciding to paint it the color of the car or something completely different.

I like the idea of the same color as the body or another color but alot of people do that.

The colors you were thinking of I would say are closer to the same colors that are in the car, black, gray and silver so it would probably go with it pretty well.

I would love some rhino lining in the Tib lol!

Do you remember the stone looking paint everyone used to use in the early 90's on the dash at least around here they did lol I wouldn't recommend it though.

I seen somewhere you can get plastic chromed, that might look good (or not) but maybe too shiny to drive around with.

I've been debating the same thing. I like the look of matching the exterior, but it's been done before. Personally I've been keeping an eye out for a good airbrusher to do something one of a kind with my interior. Ever notice how the gauge bezel looks somewhat like an open sharks mouth. Ok a sharks mouth with only 4 teeth, but anyway I want to do something no one's done yet.
As far as what your looking for, I think a charcoal gray (primary),maybe a two tone with black would look nice.

I would say like a black pearl would be nice, but if you want to be risky paint it like cobalt blue

Thanks for the ideas guys!!

I like sock's idea... I wonder if it will llok as good on the RD1 dash that I have. I think that the rd2 are more suitble for a two tonw though...

What are these textured colors? I LOVE the chorocal(sp?) one, looks exactly what I'm looking for... Where to get? Is it textured when looking, or is it actually not smooth?

What is the Rhino liner?

Rhino Liner is what they spray in truck beds. I think it's Regit who has it in his engine bay.

the rhino lining (bedliner) would look good in and engine bay, but i think would look too 'industrial' inside the car. might look cool on like door jams and stuff, and engine bay, but the interior.. yukk..

anyway, heres the textured paint colors. silver, graphite, charcoal.
