Weight Reduction
Add up the amount of weight reduction you feel you have done, and put it here. Curious to see who the top “weight savings” winners are. It doesn’t have to be exact, but try to be as close as you think it is.

I stripped the rear seats and rear interior out of the Accent along with the spare tire, jack, jack tool, etc. I think (pure guesstimate) that it probably shaved 150lbs of weight or so altogether.

Vehicle: LC accent
Parts removed:
-Air conditioning compressor, lines, condensor and heat exchanger
-Power steering pump and lines
-Head unit and all speakers
-Roof lining
-Rear seats and boot/hatch lining
-Carpet and all sound deadening
-Door trims and internal door sheet metal
-Wheel trims
-Spare tire, jack and tools
-Gear gaiter and centre console trim
-Cup holders
-Rear HVAC ducting
-Foam bumper support front + rear
-Some exhaust hangers
I'm aiming to replace the hood and front guards with fiberglass items, fit lighter wheels (including the flywheel), gut the dashboard, then replace all of the rear glass with lexan or perspex.
Original weight: 1050 kg/2300 lbs
Predicted current weight: 930 kg/2050 lbs
I've had to replace some of the interior trim to pass inspection, but it will be coming straight back out again. Because racecar.

I took the back seat out of the Accent, surprised how much it weighed.
On my Gen Coupe I bet I've stripped at least 200 lbs. The getting rid of the OEM 19" wheels alone saved over 15 lbs apiece, removed the dual exhaust another 40 lbs, lightweight battery another 16 lbs. And every time I do some work I seem to have left over bolts and brackets that all add up.
