This is the third time that i open the hatch and notice water in my trunk by the spare tire. It doesn't
leak through the hatch cause the only part that is wet is the wheel well where the spare
tire sits.
I have two black gromets that if u take out you can see the ground. I put silicone around
there last time. Now im thinking water may be coming in through the apc tail lights that i have since the
seal on them isn't the best?? help me out thx....

i got the same darn thing. it's not even when i drive, the car is parked. i've seen it drip. it's probably from the spoiler although i know mine is sealed pretty good. i'm looking for the same answer, i can't find my leak.

Check your spoilers especially if they were installed aftermarket. Otherwise check the seal around the trunk and make sure it's clean. spray down your car and try to find out where it's comming from, top or back.

I had a similar problem, but the water would accumulate IN the hatch, and when I'd lift the hatch, it'd pour out into the trunk area.
The water was coming in through the rear washer nozzle. I replaced the nozzle with a $15 replacement from Hyundai and problem solved.
I'd check your tail lights, and the vent on the driver's side, behind the carpet.
Pull out all the carpet and drive around, see what's wet afterwards and trace it down. Put paper towels down in certain places to see if any water is coming in around the taillights.

another place to check is those stupid azz rear vents in the corners of the hatch. I literally had a lake below both of them. filled them with spray foam and presto, no more water in my trunk.
for those of you concerned about those vents being there to release air pressure when slamming your doors, no worries. I've had mine done now for three months now and it also made the rear a bit more quieter also.

I have those vents and my sunroof still pops open whenever I shut the trunk. I wouldn't remove them, that's alot of extra stress on the sunroof and windows.
It annoys the piss out of me. Every time I shut the hatch I watch the sunroof pop up and then back down briefly.

LoL, don't slam your hatch then, there is no need to do that. I never slam mine. a quick push once it is in the unlocked setting and mine closes slicker than snot.
