VARAD Underbody Kit
Well, it was between StreetGlowGold for $150 shipped (4 bars) or $150 for the Varad kit (2 bars and a controller). The varad won, and i'm pretty happy with it.
they're really fuggin bright, and because they're directional, they shine out about 12" from the car. The thing that makes them totally worth it, and glad i didn't try to make my own (i was considering it), is the controller. there is well over a dozen modes (not just the 4 they advertise) and most have 4 speed settings. needless to say, there's a ton of different shows to put on that will make the po po hunt you down. also, the controller has 4 lights on the face that show you what the bars are doing on the ground outside by mimicing them. very cool.
here's a vid (5meg) that shows most of the settings (not the different speeds at all) and the last part where it's sorta sporatic is where it's reacting to the music (there's 4 different frequencies to adjust to).

Holy crap! That's some bright shiz! Just imagine how crazy it would be if there were 4 bars with it, instead of 2. eek! Where did you buy them from for only $150? I take it everything connects together the same way as regular under body neon is?

it connects pretty much the same as neons, except it's in parallel rather than series. i was talkin to Redz about the extra 2 bars, and i'm not sure if i want them. I love the scanning mode (back and forth), and think it would be way too much if all 4 sides did it, and the controller won't differentiate between pairs of bulbs... though, when i emailed Varad about it, it said they would be disabled during the chasing mode. i'll end up getting something soon for the front and back, either neon or varad, i'm just not sure yet.
ebay had them for that cheap ($125 + $25 shipping) for the odd colors: red, yellow and orange. the blue, white and purple were $175 + shipping due to popularity i guess. also check out theZEB.com for the only place i've been able to find the 24" bars for the front and back.
