While neons are nothing I would ever really do to my car (at least underneath)I have been tempted to run some LEDs into the box for my Sub(when I finally get it) and wire them into the trunk lights... off when nobody can see them.. on when people can.

I too want to see some PICS!

remember that LED's are directional, so most LED's you buy will be shining a circle onto whatever their pointed towards... you don't get the same "glow" effect as a neon tube, so you'll probably have to have a lot of LED's in order to keep it from shining colored circles everywhere

what is cool.. I have a strip of LEDs I picked up somewhere... when hooked up and shining.. they project a SINGLE point on a wall after about eight feet.

thortib... do you have AIM? Did the box come with anything? Like MFR. Name or anything like that? Does it say what brand the neons are?

It is the LED underbody kit discussed on hyundaiperformance. It is made by mobile emotions. I dont' have any friends with underbody or ever seen the underside of a car that does so I don't really know where to mount them or anything. I could just go for it but I don't want to screw into a fuel line or something.

What state is the blue lights illegal in? I was really looking forward to doing that... Also, what is the best brand?

everybody has their own opinion on the best brand. LED's are supposedly brighter, and a lot of people like them, but I'm not a big fan of them from what I've seen. Maybe I'll change my mind at NOPI when I'm sure I'll see plenty.

Blue is illegal in several states, if not all. I would call your local police dept. and just ask them. Blue and Red are illegal because they can be confused with emergency vehicles. I have spoken with cops before that say they would write a ticket for any color underbody neon. Their interpretation of the law is "Any dazzling or distracting lights visible from the rear or the vehicle." Pretty much depends on the police dept. and whether or not they have better things to do than write tickets for colored lights.
