well the other day on my way back from nc I saw a red tib with type-r skirts and a bunch of stickers. Anyways I wasn't all that impressed with the skirts. I've had a pair for a couple years now I just haven't installed them.

my question is does anyone have a picture of a tib from behind with the skirts installed. The main thing i didn't like is how far they stuck out with two big holes on each side of the car. I think it probably would look alot better if the backs were blocked off or fg piece was made to direct airflow into the wheel well in effect blocking visibility of the holes from the rear. Of course it's possible the car I saw them on just had them installed improperly.

Yeah that's why we're not going to make them like stock. I'm going to make them overlays like common wings west type, and make those vents a little more subtle from behind. I used to drive beind my buddies car (Jaws021) and his did the same. I tink they'd be a great side skirt to use for a rear fender flare that they could blend into, rather than stick out with nothing to match.

you need the rear holes for air to escape out. if you closed them it would create drag on the sides of the car.

um I'll call it rear brake cooling... lol, if someone did build another rear engined tib it would be perfect for the rear intercooler.

I'm planning on putting some filters in mine, and routing some hosing from behind those to cool my amps for my sub setup.

^^^good thinking now that is a truely original idea.

but having them route toward the inside of the wheel well to cool braking would be a awsome idea to, not so original but very effective.

Cool (no pun intended) idea, but seems like kind of a waste of time. You would need a monster system that would be under serious load to justify having an "auxiliary cooling system". Wouldn't you think?

Never hurts to be overly careful, especially in the heat of the desert, but imagine the points at a car show when you show it to a judge...
