Silverstars!
QUOTE (phorq)
the only thing i've heard to help prolong their lives is to let the car run for about 20 seconds before turning on your headlights. this apparently lets the voltage settle, thus doing less damage to the bulbs. or you could always go true HID.
Yup! That's what I always do now. Haven't had any issues with my bulbs blowing since doing that. *knock on wood* But I've gone through about 5 pairs of bulbs in about a year. :x One of these days, I'll actually order a set of HID's. Just need to determine which ones are the best, and I want to see how some 2nd gen's look first with before getting buying an HID kit.

HID all the way
 some of us aren't able to get prices on HID's... :?

Java, what brand of bulbs do you have?
I've been lucky. The first 2 years I had my tib I got new bulbs every month or so... but since my last accident I had to get my headlights replaced (last December - 10 months ago!) my bulbs haven't blown out yet, I just wish I knew what kind of bulbs they were, they don't say. (nok on wud)
And about the 20 seconds.. I do that everytime, because I use the remote starter while walking to my car and by the time I turn on my headlights it's been about 20 seconds, so maybe that's helped...
if you don't like the silverstars, give the cool blues a try, i have had a set of them in for almost six months. they look good. and no their is no blue tint to the light at all (don't worry about cops). however i plan on taking them out and going with gold bulbs. u no, just be different. now i just have to get my freinds fiance to go look at the state vehicle code when hes at work one day. I can't go myself, olny allowed to drive to and from work right now, sucks but i make the best of it.
How do you find the cool blues? I got a set as part of a promotion at a local speedshop, but I haven't installed them yet. From everything I have read, blue light bulbs don't provide as good a light on the road as "normal" bulbs.
