I'm looking to shaved that ugly ass antenna off my 01 tibby. Anyone done this any ideas, comments, suggestions, how-to's, or what not to do with that besides proceed and enjoy the new sleeker look?

Howard rulez, go sirius. hope the XM merger falls through, clear channel clearly sux!!

mounting location ideas also with your antenna lets get some dialogue on this. I put mine in that little strip between the door and windshield at the bottom, great nonstop antenna strength and very low key location. top that!

Have you got damage that needs fixing or is the car going in for paint anyway? If not, I wouldn't bother doing it just yet. Just disconnect the antenna & leave it down. Paint the chrome parts black if need be but it's barely noticeable anyway.

If you do decide to do it, it'll be fair bit of messing around & painting to get it looking good. You need to weld a plate in underneath the hole where the antenna was, then fill the hole with body filler, sand, smooth, prep & paint. If yours is a metallic or pearlescent colour, you will probably also need to blend that whole rear quarter section.

Good luck with it.

Im so glad mine is gone. Ive got one of those BMW style roof antennas, except mine isnt really an antenna, just a little fin. Im sure you could get a real one and hook it up if you wanted.
