Sounds like your hood is better than mine. The vent tore up my spark plug cover. The thing still has huge gaps on the side which look like shit. Your hood pins work good, I'll have to try that idea.
Uhm, NO> You obviously didn't look at the pictures, DTN had to cut a slot out for the cover.

^^ Yes, I had to cut out a slot for the timing and spark covers. The valve cover itself would hit without either of those covers in place. All 3 had to be redone because I took off the timing and spark covers briefly.
Another issue that I did not address was the fact that the hood has slightly smaller left to right dimensions. It's easily correctable by loosening the fender bolts and moving them inwards.
The hood also came with heat extractor vent covers which I had to remove because there is not enough room under the hood for them between the hood and the engine.
