dont know if this would work.... but couldnt you guys work out a deal and trade your front ends? i mean youd both get exactly what you want... haha
AND itd have to be pretty cheap if not free since one would buy the rd2 and get paid back for the rd1. make sense?

^^smart idea. It'd work too....if I was doing this conversion. I drive an RD1 (no need for front-end conversion), I was just curious to the process. I may have an idea stored away for a friend's car....

I like the rears for the RD1 but like the front end on the rd2...thats is why. I have a buddy who can weld for me.

I think the RD2 is dead sexier in every way over the RD1.. but I'll amuse myself and put myself in your shoes.
You could buy a parts car RD1 and use the front clip for your modifying, and have the engine and other accessories that stayed the same between the two for parts. Kind of like killing two birds with one stone.
