Default Paint Rusting

Anyone else had a problem with their paint rusting on their tib? I have a 2k, silver. The rusting is on the back, where the light is...it's a flat part and it's rusting there, and only there on both sides. it's the plastic part. i've also had problems with other plastic parts paint chipping. is this covered under warranty?

Hey, I've had so many probs with my 2k1 tib that I told the dealer that I was going to drive it through their front window if they didn't fix it... I had it for three days and it went into the shop for 6 days... they will argue with you forever... but bottomline is that the bumper to bumper warranty has to cover it.

Damn straight! do a search and fine Random's post about warranty rights(link) and go to the dealer informed and ready to battle.

There is a different warranty on paint and rust. Read your warranty papers. It details everything.

On a 2000 tibby, there is NO excuse for rust though. NONE! They should fix it no questions asked!

The back bumper COVER is urathane and imune to rust. What exact area is rusting? Can you take/post some photos?
