Default Neon Underbody Kit

I just installed a new blue neon underbody kit last night on my 97' accent.

For the moment, I have left the plastic covering on the lights. I heard from a couple of people that it is a good way to protect them. But then I thought that if any moisture or condensation did get into the plastic, it could do more damage to the lights because it would have no place to go and just sit in there.

Anybody have any thoughts?

Not a major issue, I was just curious.

I can garentee you that rocks and crap will fly up and bang them occasionally, so its probably best to keep the covers on. On extremely humid days, just take a look and see if there is condensation built up. If there is, dont use them. If they dont get power, they cant short out. . theoretically.

Aren't you neons convered under some sort of warantee?
I'm pretty sure condensation should be covered...but if you remove the protective plastic covering my guess would be that it'd void the whole thing.

Neons have tp be inserted in a lexan tube for protection. Seal each end with clear outdoor silicone to keep moisture away, if not it will mess up both the neon tubes ans transformer.

If it's the Streetglow gold series kit, then it shouldn't matter if one goes out anyways, they have a lifetime warranty if the bulb goes out or breaks etc... as long as the lexan tubing is fine.

I "HAD" a set on my car (sold them) for a while, and I NEVER had any condensation with them, they were in the snow, rain, you name it, it's always humid in the Seattle area
