You might even just take one out while you are at the hardware store and have them match it for you. (thread gap)

 

just be careful of one thing... if you look at the underside of your hood, there should be a little "hook" that goes into a slot on the fenderline.. this is to keep your hood from coming back through the windsheild at you in a front end collision.. keep the hook in the slot and you are all fine.

 

^^ So maybe thats why my hood decided to fly over my car instead of smash through my windshield at 60mph...

 

That must have been frightening... I had the same thing happen with my first Spider.. those cars the hoods hinge from the front.. but it is a weak design that does not allow for lubrication and eventually starts to gunk up with rust... well, one day the hinge broke when I was at school.. on the way home, it pulled free of the other hinge (slips in) and the strength of the air going over the car grabbed it and flung it up and over the car at about 65mph... thankgoodnes it went over.. I had the top down and the windshield is only held on with four bolts on those cars...
