Those of you who had your car repainted the same color, how much did the body shop charge you for it? I'm getting estimates and i want to see what the average cost is that members on here have paid.

 

i always hear $1200 for a proper respray but from what i've heard, you don't really have to grind all the paint off just sand the gloss off to the paint layer and then re-gloss. a good shop should do this because there are a lot of places that do shotty work take your money ...at least where i live.

 

1200-1800 with a little body work and a good shop is pretty decent pric for the body work and painting!

 

IF you do ALL the prep yourself, a bare-bones one coat from Maaco could be down to $200. But you get what you pay for.

 

Attempted the ABOVE^^^^ with a B4000 Mazda Pickup, was my wheeler at the time, and wanted a cheap paint just to look half way decent, I did all the prep, sanded down the whole car, primered and blocked the damn thing myself! Took it there Tech said it was a good job, qouted me 300 bucks, come back, they claimed 35hours of body work, and just a one coat paint, and a cheap clear, They (MAACO) attempted to charge me 1300 dollars. It looked like a decent paint, but there was no way they did any more prep than what i did! So i b*tched and complained so much, i got it for the base 300! Plus there Tech had my back that inspected it and qouted me first off!
