Default How long do HIDs last?

Is there a standard time frame on how long an HID kit will last? Like something from DDM for an example. And when HID's start to die, do they give you any kind of warning or do they just stop working? Im thinking of an example like if you were to use your lights every single day, how many days, or months, or years could you get away with doing it before they know longer work?

Hard to tell. My headlights have lasted about 4 years so far. My foglight (from DDM) died after about 2 or 3, but with their warranty, they last forever.

Usually no warning whatsoever. I almost have at least one set of lights on when I drive.

^^ Not sure which one. Only thing I could see would be the last sentence, should have been - almost always have one set of lights on when I drive. (fogs or highs)

Or the 2 or 3 was referring to years, but thought that could have been deducted. What else am I missing?

I had Diode Dynamics HIDs for 4 years, but only put about 20,000 miles on the car during that time. I've had a set on my Genesis for 9 months, about 14,000 miles and no issues. They last pretty long, it's worth buying HIDs to avoid replacing the factory halogen so often, it's economical.

Ive had apexcone's for 5 years, first blub blew last month.

They still replaced it for free, actually sent me a set because they said the color might be off since its been so long.

So props to apexcone on that note.

I've replaced exactly one headlight bulb on my car in the last 163,8xx miles. Moral: Get HIDs because they are superior lighting and don't worry about the longevity because they will last.
