Saw some really cool vinyl wrapped cars in the past at some shows and I think I might want to do it. Seems way cheaper than a new paint job and it can last as long as paint. Anyone ever looked into it? A new paint job would run me around 3-4K depending on a few things. I would guess a vinyl wrap would be somewhere around 1-2K, right? I thought about maybe just buying the vinyl and doing it myself but then I remembered when I tried to tint my own windows and gave up after an hour. So I dont see me doing a vinyl wrap on my own turning out to be ok.

 

A guy just wrapped his Genesis matte white. It cost $3,500.



Wrap is only temporary. It wears out.

 

wrap can cost almost as much as a decent paint job and when done well i believe the 'life' is around 7 years.



the only way you would really gain anything this way in my opinion is if you could do it yourself or had a somewhat complicated design that would be cheaper to do with vinyl than paint.



it cost me 1600$ cash to get my tiburon resprayed, some minor body work , re-clearcoat my carbon fiber hood and install my body kit. the paint last until i decided to butcher it about 3 years later and i believe the part i didn't butcher still looks good, but i can confirm it soon.
