Don't do it. They look like crap. If the hood is so light and flimsy that its going to be ripped off the car don't buy it. A hood can be light while still being structurally sound if properly designed.

Structure has nothing to do with it. It's physics.
Why do you think professional race cars have them on their HIGH QUALITY hoods?
With the shape of our cars the amount of lift generated on top of our hoods is probably a bit higher than most cars as it is.
The RICEY ones look like crap. Get some good low profile ones.

Um.. professional racers have hood pins because their High quality hoods usually have little to no structural bracing. They are designed for all out lightness.
Personally though, I do not like Hood pins.. but I do like these...

They are called Slide Latches. When I go C/F I am getting a set and doing something special.. wait a couple of months and you will see.

^ BOOOO!!!!! A couple months. tongue.gif LOL
Anyway, I think that the VIS hood would look good with hood pins. Plus you prolly should, just for the safety factor.
Personally I think the hood pins look funny on the tib because of the lines on it. There is really no spot to make them look good. Either way you should prolly do it, find some cool ones though.

hard to show you what I do not have... and the hood is last before paint. I still have to replace a fender, bumper, corner light, and headlamp.. and once I get the hood, I need to mold my vents into it.
These things take time.

because OEM locks should be removed to enter to some competitions/race. It's a rule. It's the same rule like placement of the tailpipe (anywhere on the perimeter of the car but behind the driver), one more example - Airbags should be off and removed.

Mad-Machine and Dmitry already addressed this point. Have you ever seen a production car with hood pins on it? There are lots of lightweight high-performance cars available, some of which can top 300 km/h. None of them uses hood pins. These aftermarket hoods seem to have issues with the latch area such that they are not safe. If people want to buy them and install hood pins to compensate for this deficiency, go right ahead. With the stock hood you could drive around all day long with the hood at the second latching position with no problem. It's designed that way for a reason.
