I just bought HIDs and I was wondering if after the ballast installation, can I still wash my engine bay without worrying about the ballast? can the ballast get wet without affecting their functionality?

Also, our lights operate with one fuse for both, left and right, or is one for each one?

I was reading the instructions and it says "If both lights share the same fuse, upgrade the fuse to a 25A~25A. If both lights use separate fuses, upgrade them to a 10A~15A."

Thanks.

So you wash your engine without covering your alternator or ignition?

I first would learn how to properly wash an engine, and what to cover when washing an engine. If you knew that, you would know just to cover it in any case.

About the fuses i know the tails use 2 fuses, I believe the headlights might as well. Im not 100%. I don't see why you don't go and pop your fuse box and look by yourself?

The time it took you to write this thread, you could of checked it 10 times. tongue.gif

I have HID's and i've washed my enging bay. Didn't affect them. Besides they should be weatherproof (waterproof connectors & ballast). At least the ones I have are.

OK so I checked the fuse box and they need one (15A) for each one. laugh.gif

And I do know how to wash my engine, is just that I didn't know about the ballast.

I put HIDs into my Bimmer.. only place in that crowded engine bay was actually bolted to the backside of the front bumper. While not really exposed to the elements, they do get wet and such and so far, no problems.
