yep, the 12,000 wont be as bright as a 4300, 6000, or 8000. but they will still be much better then stock, so its still an upgrade. just an upgrade in the name of rice.. sacrficing performance for the looks..

also, MANY sites consider 12,000k to be 'violet' those would probably be more around the 10,000k range

^^ Violet is not an actual color temperature. Red is at the bottom of the color temperature range, ie 1000K, blue is at the top, 12000K. Violet is caused by adding different metals. If a company says their 12000K HIDs are violet then do not buy from that company.

My 12000K bulbs are about 2x brighter then the superstar ultra-white bulbs.

They're slightly less bright, so it's really not even a consideration when selecting a color temperature because it's still an upgrade to the stockers. Just get one that won't get you pulled over. I'd recommed 8000K.


I'm also working on a modification to the projector lens to go with the HIDs. I'll be testing it tonight to see if it's any brighter.
