Default Headlight & Taillight conversions...

I have a little '01 Accent Hatch. I'll be "attempting" IS300 Headlights and BMW M3 Tails.

The headlights will be rather easy but the tailights are going to be quite a bit more difficult. Has anyone done any custom mountings for the tails? Is there a lot that needs to be reinforced or is it an easy cut and mold job?

What custom mounts do you have?

There are a few people who have done custom taillights that I've seen pictures of on an Accent but I don't know specifics. I don't think that the Accent will really be any different than doing it to any other car. Several people have mounted the hatch portion of Lexus tails into their hatches.

The only headlight conversion I can think of is one guy who converted to XG350 headlights.

Yeah, and those headlights weren't even molded into the bumper... I will be molding the IS300 headlights into the Accent Housing, adding a turn signal into the bumper or POSSIBLE corner of the headlight assembly. I did the IS300 tails on my old prelude, I want something different this time. The M3 LED tails look sharp and I think it would throw off a lot of people when they see my car. Along with a molded rear trunk lip (w/ LED embedded lights as well) that will be similar to the M3 style spoiler.

I just don't know how strong the rear quarter panels are on the ol' Accent.

They're pretty tough and solid feeling. I've never looked at them from the point of view of hacking and removing things but with the tails out it did seem nice and sturdy.

I noticed that, but the trunk lid and the edges are what I'm more worried about... Looks like I just may have to fab some brackets! hahaha

All in a day's work, right?

I would like to see the IS head lights on an Accent. That would be awesome.

well, I'm going to try and mold them into the Accent's housing though rather than mold fenders and the hood.
