Default HID conversion kit

Being new in here, I thought I might turn the fine people in here onto a source for a reasonably priced HID conversion kit. I bought one for my motorcycle and installation was a breeze and the difference it made was unbelievable. A standard 55 watt halogen bulb draws 55 watts of current and puts out around 3200 degrees kelvin of light. I used a 5000 degree kelvin bulb that only draws 35 watts. At first when you turn the lights on it has a faint blue tint to it, but as it warms up in about 10 to 30 seconds the blue tint goes away and the color is about the same as a flash bulb or diamond white. The higher the degrees in kelvin you go, the more of a blue or purple color you get. While it looks cool with a 12,000 degree kelvin bulb you get less usable or visible light. It's almost like a really bright black light.
4300 to 5000 kelvin is about the best for a white light, above that it starts getting more of a blue tint up to a purple color the higher you go.
I got mine through http://www.cqlight.ca. The kit for the low beams is around $165.00 for everything you need to replace both low beams.
After I installed the low beam set up on my bike, I did not have to re aim the light and so far have not been flashed by oncoming vehicles thinking my high beam on and rarely ever have to use my old halogen high beam.
Service was pretty quick and pretty much plug and play installation.
If you do decide to go this route just remember not to touch the glass on the bulb with your fingers and it does not hurt to wipe the glass with an alcohol pad to make sure there is no oil on it just in case, I used some surgical rubber gloves when handling it during installation.
It almost always ships with what looks like a plastic washer at the base of the bulb and will not fit if left on, just compare your old bulb with the HID bulb and you will see what I mean.
Plug the original wiring harness that attached to your old bulb into the new ballast, then the new harness into the ballast, you cant plug the wrong wire into the wrong hole because the plug and holes will only fit one way, install the bulb and attach the wires to the bulb, if you left the plastic shipping spacer on you will never get the spring wire clip that secures the bulb to the housing to fit back into the tabs on the headlight housing. I put new halogen bulbs in the wifes elantra but cant remember where the oem bulb wires feed into the housing.
If you sell the car or want to move the kit to another vehicle with the same bulb type, just pull the bulb disconnect the wires put the halogen bulb back in and reattach the stock harness back into the halogen bulb. Dont waste your money on the high dollar blue coated halogen bulbs or go to a higher wattage halogen. You may end up messing up you headlight lens or bulb holder due to the higher heat the bulb gives off. And again make sure the new HID bulb is clean when you put it in, you can even hook it all up and test it before you put the bulb in the hole. If anything is on the bulb and it's installed the first time you turn the light on it will vaporize the oil off your skin and may cloud the inside of your lens.
HID uses less current and gives off less heat and a lot more light. If any of what I have said about the oil on your skin getting on the bulb, just remember to wipe the glass with an alcohol pad, fire it up before you stab it and use some surgical gloves when handling it.
