yeah, my lights are from 1997 and they still luster. i mean they look brand new. anybody know what causes the plastic to get dull and fade? heat burning?

glass lights are good for H.I.D. kits. do you have an H.I.D. on? your current lights must be sealed improperly or something to make them fade. i don't understand how mine are probably older than yours and they still shine.

like i said before, if you don't want KDM, just order some from a trusted gas station. they have parts books and do some bodywork. you will pay like $30 + $15 for used lights and for delivery thus beating the price for new lights.

lights definitely should be easy to find. just hit up the WTB's, ebay... my mechanic does this for me all the time. his shop is next to a scrap yard and he orders nothing but new parts from donor tiburons in the yard next door.

thanks guys, i'm gonna start my search tomarrow.

i found some headlights on Ebay...but they are 130 and 169...which is way more than i want.

my headlight lense i think is just messed up from the lady before me not really taking care of the car, since they were kinda yellow when i got them...and i'm sure heating them in the oven to black out the housing didn't help my situation.

but i'm thinking if i can find some decent ones, i'm gonna put a plastic film over them. like this...

and maybe wrap the side markers too...to bring the headlight/turn-signal together better.

oh yeah and i have those silverstar bulbs...andhonestly they are worth the money. i like them 10000000000000x better than stock bulbs.

QUOTE (KayDM @ May 30 2005, 11:09 PM)
i know you all would say go with the KDM ones...but honestly i don't really want to spend that much money, and having glass lenses on your headlights can make you fail inspection if the guy decides to be a dick that day. (safety hazard if they break).

any input would be appreciated

You are kidding me about that, right? That means that every car I have owned up until my tib would have failed inspection because they had glass headlights?

KayDM

Look for a company called LAMIN-X
They make clear and colored overlays for headlamps.
Might not make a pre-cut one for the Tibs, but they also sell them in sheets so you can cut them out.

about the headlights...

how many NEW cars have headlights that are glass? NONE.

old ones yes. new ones, no. i worked at a car dealership, and one guy brought in his s4 wagon and had the european headlights that were glass and the tech that inspected it said he could have failed him for them, but didn't. (yes they let some things slide)

it makes perfect sense, in a collision you don't want glass flying everywhere.

and i was gonna go to clear-guard.com and get some laminant if i went that way. (i think that's the website)

do you guys think i should keep the black out housing if i go with the yellow film, or do the yellow film over silver housing, or just do clear film over the black housing.
