Headlight bulbs
QUOTE (majiktib)
8O whoa, for those prices you would be better off getting a good set of HID's. They last much longer than regular bulbs anyways.
hey, i hate to bump the old threads... but it's better to search and do that than post another thread for the 5th time.
my question here though..... is who would probably have the cheaper silverstars (single or kit) between CSK (Checker, Shucks, Kragen depending on your location), or AutoZone????
autozone's website is all messed up right now...
well, I tried to get a set at autozone... $40 for the pair... then they were out of stock when i went to go pickt them up. The guy at the counter told me that they had them at Wallmart for $20. Sure enough, they did, I'm not sure if they stil do, but it's worth a look. BE ADVISED: Silverstars don't last long. My pair lasted 6months. and both times they burnt out was at night time, and I got written warnings, IMo, its not worth it, get something that lasts.
I parked beside my friend at work (he has a done up 2002 Mazda protege 5).
My car with Eurolites, and his with Silverstars,...
Both look very white, but mine were a touch brighter.wink1.gif
Eurolite rocks man.
*Lasted 1 year and still counting*

I've been runnng the Silverstars for three months now. I must be the only TIb owner who thinks our lights are great; even with the stock bulbs I thought they were incredibly bright, so much brighter than my last two Nissans with Silverstars, and the cut off is a nice clean line right below other car's windshields. Mine are also much brighter than my brother's RD1 lights, but maybe his bulbs are getting old.
Sylvania is supposed to be good about replacing their Silverstars that burn out in less than a year. Save your receipt.

haha yeap it's old as hell, but at least you didn't make a new thread about it.
it depends on what you think looks good. personally i wouldn't suggest getting any upgraded lights besides HID. without a harness you're going to melt your connection. please just don't waste your money and save up for HID.

6000k is the brightest, 8000k not far off. kelvins isn't the brightness, it's the tinto of the color. personally i match the lights according to the color of the car. i've got HID's on all four main lights.

painted bulbs are ricer. they actually block light from passing through the bulb and take higher wattage. you'rte talking 80-100watts compared to 35watt HID.

go for the 8K HID, very nice blue color...I am on my second kit in my low beams (H7) over the last 3 years and love them regardless...very hard to go back to halogen after getting HID...I have PIAA Ion yellow in my fogs (9006) and in my high beams (H7)...the PIAA are expensive but are stock wattage and much better made...I have tried many bulbs over the years and all including Catz, Nokya, Naxos, and Silverstar to name a few of the current bulbs out there burnt out quicklly in relation to my PIAA's...only obstacle is getting the PIAA's...all of mine have come from Hong Kong via Ebay...you can't buy them here in the States...good luck with it all...
