Good place for underbody neon?
I decided that I want to buy an underbody light kit for my car. What are good cheap places to get a kit from? I dont care about flashing LEDs or patterns. I just want something that will stay fully lit when Im parked somewhere. Thats why I think a neon kit will be better versus an LED. I dont care about the fancy stuff...just a steady glow.

Best place to find underbody neons? 2001. If you don't have a time machine, call Paul Walker for the hook up.
lol...sorry.
StreetGlow.com for overpriced stuff.
LowGlow is a cheap alternative.
eBay is a good place to find stores selling them cheap. Find somewhere with a RETURN guarantee, in case they're damaged in shipment.

The LED's I saw way back then left focused spots on the ground instead of a constant illumination. I didn't like them.
And I agree. I thought people stopped doing this.

I have an underbody kit! tongue.gif
I would go with LED, even if you're not interested in patterns. You'll get a much brighter glow from those kits, and neon kits wont work as well if you get cold weather. The only advantage neon kits have over LED is that they're alot easier to install. They have transformers built in, and its each tube connects to each other, which then goes to a fuse and single switch. LED kits have to be wired up to a block, then to a box to control patterns.

Don't the LED tubes have directional LEDs, so they put light circles on the ground? For a car like mine with a kit so low, you won't see LED tubes, you'll only be able to see the glow coming from beneath with neons. The neon glow seemed to be more spread out than LED tubes.
I had white underbody neons until my last accident (6 or 7 years ago). I thought about putting white neons under it again, but decided it hasn't been cool since 2002. And yes, it WAS cool if done right.

If you do it, don't get neon get LED's. The neon tubes are a lot more fragile.
you could always use the stuff you use to mesh out your grill. it works as a shield for the tubes.
