Gk Sunroof
Yeah the supplies were on ebay and CF is MUCH like f/g, but FG doesnt have to be perfect and c/f does. It would be cool to do what royalcity was talking about and make a full replacement but I think I'm just going to do an overlay.
there are some places that sell REAL CF sheets, with 3m adhesive on the bottom.. just cut those to fit and lay em on carefully.. that would work, and be easy.
yeah, vacuum bagging is best way, but also most time consuming and expensive..
these guys want to do it for the look and cost effectiveness, so overlaying is the best bet.

Wouldn't you be able to compensate mistakes with clear-coat?
Hi Tbbychick
If your looking for a carbon sunroof, I have one.
I got one of the original PreciousFibers one. It looks and fits perfect. Weave is laid PERFECTLY.
BUT:
If you read about it, you should know that it flexes a little on high speed (comming up a little in the middle, and than back when you slow down). To make it 110% perfect, you'll need to lay a layer of fiberglass to make it stiffer or any other idea. You can do a search if you are unaware of that issue with CF sunroofs.
Another small problem is that I took off one of the bolts (legs) you have a pic of that. I can simply glue it back, and have a special glue for that. Just letting you know.
If you want it, I can sell it to you. Give me your Zip code, and i'll check for shipping from Israel, Shouldn't be too much.
Will e-mail you pics. Send me your adress.

Are you serious??
lol, ok yeah show me some pics and gimme a price, and we'll work it out!
Would it be cheaper to send it to Canada or NY do you think? My zipcode in NY is 11705. My postal code here is L5B 1E2.
If you could glue that, that would be awesome. Either way, Im not too picky.
you just made my day! laugh.gif

can you check for shipping to Canada too though? L5B 1E2 in Ontario...only because it would be easier for me, I'm here now and if shipping doesn't take that long it would get here in time. If its more than to the US, I'll pay extra.
As far as the flexing, I'm sure I could reinforce it. I usually drive on the highway with it tilted open slighty, not open all the way, just a little. Do you think that would be bad t do with the CF roof?
And, is this just the replacement cover, not the whole thing with the rails, right? I dont need all that. The extra weatherstripping would be much appreciated, cause mine's really crappy.
Thanks!!!!!
