I was looking at some GK pics and I noticed that their sunroofs look similar in shape and size to ours. But I can't tell if they are just from pictures. Any know the dimensions or knows where I can find them? Also, GK sunroofs are tilt out like ours, right? Not the ones that go into the roof.

bump, what about a website that has digrams, would webtech have the dimensions? I'm tempted to just go to the dealer and measure it myself.

If you do measure one, please measure others if they have it. I'm not sure what cars have them, but you know what I mean, elantra, sonata, etc. I will trty to if I see one as well. I need a new one, lol.

I know they are tilt out. I saw one the other day and was surprised that it operated the same as ours. As far as the same size, I am not sure on that one.

Dosn't seem that hard to make one out of plexi-glass.

You could try to talk to a local plastics company. There's alot of places who make things like this. If you search yellowpages.com, you should be able to find something about plastics. If you call them, they will be able to tell you who can do the job. I'd expect 80 bucks for a sunroof replica out of smoked plexi.

Plexi would suck, as it would constantly scratch.

I have my reasons. I'm not gonna say until I know for sure if what I want to do is possible. Might not have to use the GK sunroof at all if things go good. smile.gif

Ok, I'll spill the beans since it's looking pretty good. There's a guy around here making carbon fiber sunroofs for the GK Tiburon at a damn good price. I asked him if he could make them for the RDs, he said sure but it would have to be a group buy with 10 people. I dont know if there are 10 people here that would be interested, so Im hoping that the GK sunroof will fit so I can just get that one. If there are 10 people interested, then I would personally donate my sunroof for the mold. But it all depends. I'm waiting to hear back from him and then I will probably post an interest thread.

I got the dimensions, 33 1/2 x 20 1/2. The dimensions of the rd sunroof are about 32 3/4 x 18 3/4, just an inch or so off on either side. So I'm wondering, would it be possible to just cut my roof that much bigger to fit the GK sunroof? Or would I have to change out all the rails and everything? If their roofs work the same way, I'd imagine I could just swap it out...

yeah? The GB he's doing at newtib has a price of $300 each for 10 or more plus shipping. That's a damn good price. Thing is, cf won't rust. My sunroof is rusting like a b!tch and it's the only place on teh car that has rust. Plus, it saves about 20lbs of weight.
