My brothers all say they're stupid and serve no purpose at all and any type of LED light used in their fashion is considered rice and a waste of money. What does HA think considering theres so many people here that have them?

Done properly, I think they look great, but at the same time I think at this point, they've been overdone.

Hell yeah they're rice. They look nice, but they're rice. Rice is anything which has no purpose other then style. Angel eyes are for style. Angel eyes look classy. They come stock on some cars... BMW for one.

You drive a rice burner. You can put rice on your car. Don't spend too much on it.

My take on it is that you should do one performance-related mod per looks-related mod. An appropriate performance mod for the headlamps would be HIDs.

On some cars they look amazing. On some cars they don't fit well at all. IMO it depends on which category the car falls into.

I had angel eyes and air vent haloz. I loved them, but yes they are rice.

You can do stuff to make your car look nicer, and it may be considered rice, but it's your car and you should do what you like.

A short color matched antenna looks better than a 4 foot tall antenna whipping around, but it's rice because it reduces quality of your radio and is done solely for looks... but I did it anyway on my Tiburon. Aftermarket wheels are done for looks 80% of the time, and often probably hinder performance, but they add so much character to the car that makes it worthwhile.

Yeah, these are rice without question or doubt. Can they be rocked and still look nice? Yes! But they do nothing but attract attention. And yes, at some point I will be installing a set of CCFL halos, but not until I have money tied up in the motor where it really counts.

its not rice, depending on your definition.

to me, i wouldn't really consider it rice.. rice to me is tacky add-ons to the car and not tastefully done.

for example; those popular stick on vents, steel wings, huge body kits that dont flow with the car and stuff like that are real rice imo.

there was a bunch of things i did to my srt-4 to make it look better that i wouldn't really consider rice.

but to the general tuners definition of rice these days, yes, angel eyes are rice, even though they come on BMWs.. the LED lighting on the audis.. rice to their definition..

i say go for it, its your car, do what you think will be the best for it.

^ I hate the add-on LED lights that don't compliment the car, AT ALL, made to mimic Audi. I saw a 15 year old Nissan Altima with audi-like LED strip on it's bumper.

Saw one of those the other day on a Camry. It just looks stupid especially when the color temp of the LEDs is nice bright white but the headlights are dingy yellow standard halogens beaming through burnt/roadrashed lenses.
