Different Headlights
Thanks for that protection :-)
One last question (so I can budget)
So all I need is: http://www.diodedynamics.com/catalog...roducts_id=113 using the 9006 bulb size? The website says go check the Sylvania site but 2011 is not an option to select

Check your owner's manual, it will tell you what bulb you have. If you have 9006, then yes.
also, research what color you want.
4300k is white
6000k has a very slight blue tint
8000k has more of a blue tint, but is not straight blue.

A bit weak in the OM department tell you the truth from Hyundai. All it says as to specifications for headlights is:
Light Bulb / Wattage
Headlights (Low) / 55
Headlights (High) / 55
Nothing about bulb #, guess I will have to pull one to check? Kinda a PitA really.

Call the service dept at the dealership and ask. H7 is certainly a standard enough Hyundai use, but it's weird that the sonata would go from it, to an H11b, back to the H7......IDK.
Gotta love new model year vehicles. I did as you guys suggested and stopped by my local Autozone to find out my bulb #. The guy pulled up 2011 Hyundai Sonata / low beam headlights only to be met with NYA which I can only assume means Not Yet Available.
I then called my dealership and after many "hold on just a sec", which to me means he couldn't find it in his parts book so he had to pull one out of another car, confirmed that it is in fact an H7.
So I guess I had better write that down somewhere huh?

if you haven't bought anything yet, go with DDM. you won't be upset you did.. I ordered mine before the holidays, got here in like 2.5 days.
you can get a set of Apexcone Raptors from DDM for ~40$ shipped with a lifetime warranty.
I always go with 8000k as they are very bright with a blue tint, which i like (call me a ricer) but 6000k are a bit brighter with a SMALL blue tint.
i've had two sets of DDM HIDS on different cars. my brother is running a set from 3 years ago on his grand prix without a single issue. I have always ran the Slim ballasts (which they dont sell anymore) but have heard the Apexcone ballasts have even better reliability.
