Well, Erebuni can't send a pic of the hood so I might have to pass on the offer. Who knows, the rep could've been sugarcoating the way it really looks, just to get rid of it. sad.gif I'll sleep on it tonight and call them tomorrow of my decision.

I'm gonna go ahead and get the hood. Thanks for all of your inputs. smile.gif What's the general cost of Sparco hood pins?

Doesn't matter if the hood has a good latch on it, you SHOULD get hood pins. I don't like the way the sparco's look, but you can find some beefy and locking ones at Pep Boys if you go looking.

The problem is that the hood is LIGHT. VERY light. It may not pop up the first time you hit 90MPH, and it may not do it the 100th time you hit it, but, for safety reasons, you SHOULD put the pins in.

I don't know how big the blemish is. Erebuni can't send a pic of it. I was going to paint the hood anyway...

well they have blemished which is basically the looks of the hood. the way the weave came out, etc..

Actually, Since CF is a structural material in hoods, not just for looks, I would consider the bold type above to be a DEFECT. If the weave is messed up in ANY way, you will be losing strength.

romey, when you get yours, post some pics...mine should be here on Thursday (7th), and after I put it on that weekend, I'll post some as well fing02.gif ...I guess we'll soon find out what Erebuni considers a "Blemished" hood...anything's better than what I have on now

Got mine on time, first thing in the morning on the 7th...almost finished fitting it on Saturday (still needs a tweak or two to get it perfectly flush- I dropped the latch pin about 2mm too low and it caused a slight bow on the sides)...minor surface blemishes...100% better than what I used to have on there, appearance-wise, although heavier than my old hood...a few of the blemishes are repairable, but I'm going to paint over the portions of the hood where the blemishes are (in kind of like a "V" from the bumper up, splitting the scoop)...

...IMO, not a bad deal for $290 shipped
