So I've asked this before, no one ever answers me... Who has the best Cuda bodykit for my RD1? I've asked about evofusion, and they are shark racing. what about import shark?

My choices are...

www.ImportShark.com
www.EvoFusionUSA.com
www.AndysAutoSport.com (By JunBug? Who the hell?)

A.A is a junk site. I wouldnt trust them at all. How they got ahold of 1 I dont even know. Wouldnt trust them with a bodykit at all. Evofusion is SR, so it will probably take awhile to get your kit. I personally have never had a bad product from SR, only long shipping times.

Try I.S. They are a great place to go with. Ive order parts from them many times and they were great. Always in conact with me if I needed something. And the f.g parts I got from them were in excellent shape! So Id deffinatly go with them!

I figured as much to go with ImportShark, just a bit scared to order from someone who has knockoff kits (yes i know they technically are all knock offs, but i want good fitting). I'd like to find something that off of the first mold, the original Cuda kits copys. I know I can't find a true orig, but I want a mold after the first cuda maybe. Has anyone even bought cuda kits at all besides like 2 of us? I know CudaTib has one, and so does Phorq. Anyone else?

Well, the rear copy sold by Import Shark was made using my kit after my body guy fixed alot of line issues and and other things. So the rear fits pretty good.

Edit: Oh yeah, just remembered, If your using aftermarket headlights, they tend to be a little tight witht he kit. I didn't have a problem with aftermarket tails on my OEM rear, but with the Cuda Bumper, they fit real tight. With the OEM tails, they slip in no problem. I never did figure out why exactly, but we got them to work, so I don't care.

The front knock off is decent, it's a more "rubbery" fiberglass than the original. In other words, it bends more. The original also weighed a little bit more because they used a different resin than the knock off.

The guy who did my car (and he and myself had first hand working experience on both the original kit and the knock offs) said the fiberglass used was superior in the copies than the originals. But the quality was better in the orignal. The stuff from Import Shark (made by Import Trendz in Santa Fe, California) has a bad problem with bubbles.

When we got a knock off front, we were running our nails across the gel coating and cracking air pockets all over the kit. So when you get it, you'll have to go over the front with a fine tooth comb to make sure you get all the air pockets out, otherwise later down the road your going to have issues with paint chips. You'll also have to make some kind of a support braket to go under the front of the knock off, cause it's almost too flexible and will shake in the wind. My guy just put a couple steel strips that went fron the front of the bumper to the bottom of the radiator support to control movement.

The lines and dimples in the middle cross brace where the Cuda emblem goes also is lacking some quality. You might have to reglass a bit or do bondo work to get the indents all the same size. AND.... the corner at the top of the wheel wells, you'll need to reinforce them. More than likely, there isn't material running through the corner for a real strong hold. So you'll need to have your body guy do some fiberglass work to get it strong.

But once you go over the whole thing and take care of all those little issues, it comes out pretty nice.

This is for the RD1 or the RD2 you are talking about spiffy? So basically, in your opinion, who should I go with then? Import shark? Evo is a bad one or what? because the import shark kit is 725, and thats about how much the evo kit is shipped. What do you think I should do?

Whoops, I'm sorry.. I was thinking Import Shark = Import Trendz. Got it mixed up.

They all get it from the same company: Import Trendz. They are the only one with the mold made from an original (mine).

So you can order from EvoFusion (aka. Shark Racing/TeamSR) or Import Shark.

So the evofusion (Team SR) kits and the ImportShark kits are clones? I guess I'll go with Evofusion to save a couple hundred bucks. I just don't want some sloppy ass kit that's going to look like an accord kit on a civic, excuse the Honda reference. I really don't want a ton of fab work done as far as 300lbs of bondo and what not. Just to make sure, one more time, Evofusion kits and ImportShark kits are the same exact mold, made by ImportTrendz, which was molded off of you. So I'm going to get a pretty decent kit, just the headlight are tight fitting for aftermarket (dont even make aftermarkets for RD1 I think), and there might be bubbles in the FG, so pop em all. Right?

I need to stop making posts so late at night, or at least make sure to double check everything I type.

The headlights should be ok. Might need to sand the holes down a little to fit perfect, but that seems to vary with each car.

It's the aftermarket TAIL-Lights that are tight fitting. but they work.

Yes, anyone who gets a Cuda now is made from Import Trendz, so go with whoever is cheaper.

You don't need 300lbs of bondo. Just use light bondo where needed. Really you use it to fix up the holes that you'll find. I have some close up pictures of all the holes that were in my bumper somewhere on my computer at home. I'll search for em and post.

Yes, you will get a decent kit. Just pay close attention and reinforce the sharp edges where you see fit. Also reinforce that front bumper to keep it from moving in the wind.

The kit is pretty strong. I've backed up over a curb and raised my car off the ground on the rear bumper a couple times, it's held up real good. Few scapes and such a little touch up work won't fix, but it didn't break badly anywhere.

Sweet deal, looks like I'm buying an eBay EvoFusion kit. Thanks for all the info Spiffy. This is the kit that I plan on getting.

**Linky!** http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/97-99-Tibur...sspagenameZWD1V

I'm looking so forward to getting this kit. I love it so much. The only downfall is the dual exhaust factor (WHY DID THEY PUT THAT THERE?!?!?!????!??????) and the fact that they make no dual for our car, on that note, will a GK exhaust fit an RD? Also, I don't think my KDM shark spoiler will match the cuda all too well.. This is my car as of now.

And I just love this pic for some reason! lol
