Last year I took out the back seats, spare tire, and all that extra crap in the back, drove around like that for quite a while, then put everything back in. I felt like I was driving a ghetto machine the whole time, it looked like crap. I dont think the weight saving was worth the ugliness of it. The only way it'll really make a difference is if you strip the car. I think Ive heard that if you lose 100lbs, you shave a tenth of a second, which is kinda...not a lot.

you know Dweet... if I was you... I would see about making something similar to the 350z "brace" to fit between the shock towers and cover up where the trunk "cover" sits..

that looks sweet!!!

my car looks butt ugly now, and i think 100lbs shave off a lil more than one tenth of a sec. I will be gettin racing seats to loose some weight, and will make the back of the car look nice smile.gif

hi guys,
are you sure the hood is ONLY 40lb? It's not that I don't beleive you, but it's hard to imagine that ugly heavy hood weighing only 40 lb, lets say that's the weight of two aftermarket 16" wheels...
At least from having to raise it, it seems way heavier that that...
I thought it weight like 60 punds at least, but if you have put it onto a scale, and 40 is the number, so be it.
