Since tint is cheap around here, I figured I would get some tinted windows. I was just curious to see how dark or how light tint would look best on a black 2000 Tibby? I was thinking somewhere between 15-20%...

I prefer no tint, it looks cleaner.

i've been thinking about tinting my windows for awhile and was going to tint my front window's 25% and the back 20% but now i think im going to go w/ a 35% tint up front and 25% tint in back. that way it will still look good and hopfully the cops wont bother me.

I'm going 50% front and quarter panel windows, which would still put me below the limit in VA since our windows have a few % tint already, according to the tool the last cop that pulled me used to test.

I've been pulled at least five times in my Tib since October, but haven't received a ticket yet. Ridiculous. I'm perfectly legal but every cop must think they can find something wrong.

I was thinking about buying a precut kit for the windows, and applying it myself. I did the rear window already on my own with a heat gun, and it turned out very nice, just one small wrinkle, but no bubbles. Summer's almost here, and I need to keep the interior cool once I install my car pc.

i tinted my whole car, except the rear hatch glass. for my first time doing it, id say i did a pretty good job. lack of proper work space is really what killed me. i had no clean tables big enough, so the tint got crinkled in one spot. the rear hatch glass was a b**** though, especially since i didnt have an extra set of hands. i tried three different cuts. first one was crap form the beginning. didnt size it properly. second one didnt even make it into the car, as it got stuck to itself while pulling the backing off. third one, everything was going good. i couldnt ge the little "fingers" to be small enough though. i tried to shrink it to much with a het gun and ended up crinkling the tint.

having previously cleaned a tint mess off the rear hatch glass(with defogger lines in it) i just yanked the thing off before it could dry and decided to give it a go some other time.

asking us what percentage of tint for you car is kind of a fruitless question. First off we do not know what colour your car is, what other mods you have, and what the limits are in the place you live.

Trying to figure out what tint to use, you need to ask four questions:

1: Am I staying in the legal limits?
2: what are the legal limits? (If "yes" to above)
3: What precentage do I want to go to?
4: Will it look good on my car?

I personally feel that on a dark car.. Dark Forest Green, Cobalt Blue, and Black, a dark tint makes the car look more like it is "one piece"

I went 28% on the sides & 18% on the rear. Not legal but looks good.
